Do we need a Norwich Western Link?
When Norfolk County Council announced plans to build the Norwich Northern Distributor Road (A1270) north and east of the city, a lot of people said they were concerned about transport issues to the west of Norwich. Many wanted the council to fill in what they saw as a ‘missing link’ between the Fakenham Road (A1067) and the A47.
The County Council will be running a public consultation between Tuesday, 8 May and Tuesday, 3 July 2018 and, at this stage, they would like to know your views on any transport issues that exist to the west of the city. This is your chance to have your say and help to determine what, if anything, needs to be done to improve transport links or provision in this part of the county – so make sure you take the opportunity to respond to the consultation.
You can find out more and respond to the consultation online at www.norfolk.gov.uk/nwl from Tuesday, 8 May. Or you can come along to one of the nine consultation events being held throughout May and June, where you can speak to County Council staff and respond to the consultation in person.
The consultation events will be held from 10.30am to 8pm each day (with the exception of the Taverham event, which will finish at 7pm). Click on the poster for the venues and dates.
CONSULTATION DAY FOR THE NDR WESTERN LINK (A1067 – A47)
TUESDAY, 22 MAY 2018 10.30AM -8PM
HALL FOR ALL, WESTON LONGVILLE
Norfolk County Council (NCC) is now committed to completing the NDR with a link between the A1067 and the A47. There will be a further consultation in November /December 2018 when 3-4 options have been identified. However May 22nd is an important opportunity to make views known.
We would like to welcome you to the Annual Parish Meeting which will be held on Thursday 10 May 2018, at 7.30pm in Great Witchingham Village Hall, Hubbards Loke, Great Wichingham.
The Parish Meeting is an opportunity for parishioners on the Register of Electors for Great Witchingham to raise any matters of concern that relate to the local community. It would be helpful to have written notice of any matters to be raised but it is not essential. Matters can be raised at the meeting without prior notice.
Great Witchingham Parish Council is looking to co-opt two parish councillors to fill current vacancies. This is an exciting time to join a dynamic council and we would love to hear from you if you would like to make a real difference in your community. Please refer to the Co-option Notice in the first instance.
An invitation to community groups and volunteers in the parish to attend an information evening for Broadland communities on Monday 23 April. Click on the link for more information
It will be an informative night for anyone wanting to put on an event for the first time or expand an existing community event.
